Neko Bento Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what data is collected when you play Neko Bento, what it is used for, who processes it and how you can control it.
1. Who we are
Popuri Games is an independent game studio based in Argentina and is responsible for Neko Bento, a free puzzle game for Android and iOS. This policy applies to Neko Bento. You can reach us at popuri.games.studio@gmail.com.
2. What data is collected
You don't need to give us an email address, password, real name or precise location to play. The data collected comes from these services:
Ads (Google AdMob). The game shows full-screen interstitial ads and rewarded videos, which you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward. AdMob collects:
- Advertising identifier: the Android advertising ID or, on iOS, the IDFA, only if you allow tracking.
- Device data: model, operating system and version, language and connection type.
- IP address, from which an approximate location (country or city) is estimated.
- Ad interactions: which ads are shown, which ones you tap and whether you finish watching a rewarded video.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics).
- Usage events, such as the levels you play, and session length.
- Device data: model, operating system, language and approximate country or region.
- An app installation identifier, which changes if you reinstall the game. It may also include the device's advertising identifier.
Errors (Firebase Crashlytics). If the game crashes, a crash report is sent with the state of the device at that moment: model, operating system, and free memory and storage. It also includes an installation identifier.
Optional sign-in (Google Play Games on Android, Game Center on iOS). If you sign in, the game receives your player ID and alias from that platform. Your alias is only shown in your in-game profile: we do not send it to Firebase or to any server. While you are signed in, the achievements you unlock are sent to Google Play Games or Game Center, which keep them in your account. You can play without signing in.
Reminders. The game schedules local reminders on your device (at most one a day) about your daily streak. On Android 13 or later and on iOS, only if you allow it. They do not go through any server and send no data. You can turn them off in Settings → Notifications or in your device settings.
Sign-in with Google Play Games or Game Center, achievements and reminders are available from version 1.8 of the game.
On your device. Your progress, your records, your achievements, your settings and the name you choose for your player are saved only on your device.
3. How it is used
- Ads: to show them, personalize them only if you allow it, measure their performance, limit how often you see the same ad and give you the reward for rewarded videos.
- Analytics: to understand how the game is played (for example, which levels are too hard) and improve it.
- Errors: to find and fix bugs.
- Sign-in: to show your alias in your profile and record your achievements on Google Play Games or Game Center.
- Fraud prevention: to detect fake ad clicks.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Third parties that process data
Google, through AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play and Google Play Games:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Privacy and security in Firebase
Apple, through the App Store and Game Center:
Google and Apple may process data in other countries, including the United States.
This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which records technical data such as your IP address in order to serve the pages. The site does not use cookies or analytics tools.
5. Consent
- In regions where the law requires it (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), a Google consent message appears when you open the game, before ads are personalized. If you don't accept, you will see non-personalized or limited ads.
- In those same regions, analytics (Firebase Analytics) only turns on if you accept it in that message. If you don't, no usage events are sent. Crash reports (Crashlytics) are still sent, because they are used to fix bugs in the game.
- On iOS, the game asks for your permission to track you, using Apple's prompt. If you don't allow it, the IDFA is not used.
6. How to turn off personalized ads
- In the game: in regions where the law requires it (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), go to Settings → Privacy to review or change your consent for ads and analytics at any time.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device). From there you can delete your advertising ID or turn off personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Turn off the permission for Neko Bento.
- Your Google account: myadcenter.google.com
If you turn off personalization, you will still see ads, but they won't be based on your interests.
7. Children
Neko Bento is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has given us data, write to us at popuri.games.studio@gmail.com and we will delete it. If the minimum age to consent to data processing is higher in your country, you need permission from a parent or guardian to use the game.
8. Retention and security
We have no servers of our own: the data is stored by Google and Apple.
- Firebase Analytics: event data linked to an identifier is kept for 2 months. After that, only aggregate statistics remain.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- AdMob: Google keeps the data according to its policy.
- Achievements: kept in your Google Play Games or Game Center account for as long as you keep it, or until you delete them.
- On your device: deleted when you uninstall the game.
Data is sent encrypted. The data we see in Firebase does not include your name, email address or payment details.
9. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use and withdraw your consent. To do so, write to us at popuri.games.studio@gmail.com and tell us your platform (Android or iOS).
How to delete your data:
- On your device: Settings → Reset progress deletes your stars and levels (your coins, coats, bentos, accessories, records and achievements are kept). Uninstalling the game deletes everything saved on the device.
- Achievements: on Android, you can delete a game's data from the Google Play Games settings and choose Neko Bento. On iOS, you can ask Apple for your Game Center data or its deletion at privacy.apple.com.
- Firebase data: it is not linked to your name or email address, so in general we cannot identify it. It is deleted automatically when the periods in section 8 end. Uninstalling the game deletes the installation identifier.
If you are in Argentina, you may also file a complaint with the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), the supervisory authority for Law 25,326.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If the change is significant, we will also let you know in the game.
11. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or your data, write to us at popuri.games.studio@gmail.com.
